This my second time on board the world’s largest cruise ship, Oasis of theSeas. Besides the outstanding on-board shows and entertainment, the casino floor offered a great selection of slots which were mainly the low volatility penny themed machines. What was different during this May 2014 cruise since I was on it the last time during 2011, was that the slot floor game choice DID change. They relocated and added all the, in my opinion, “fun” themed games (Monopoly, Wizard of Oz RubySlippers, Monopoly, WMS Alice Mad Tea Party, Aruze’s King of Dragons “One more for the Bonus”, Konami Heat Engine, I Love Lucy, Sex in the City, U-Spin, and Cash Wizard) to the smoking section and the just common slot games to the non-smoking section.
Because of Royal Caribbean’s new fleet-wide non-smoking policy inside the staterooms and on the balconies, the only indoor place to smoke was the smoking side of the casino. This made it unbearable to play in as non-gamblers basically used the casino smoking section for exactly that reason- just to smoke. I managed some play in the smoking area during“off-hours” and had fun on those machines versus the non-smoking side which I found just a typical slot floor variety and not very exciting.
I lost some money but did get a lot of play for the many hours I was inthere. There is a cash back slot play credit program with several “double points” hours and a few slot tournaments.
